I've got a question for everyone here, it's something I've been thinking a lot about recently and I'm wondering how other people might feel about this subject.
I'm talking about scalping, specifically: what is your definition of a scalper?
For those who don't know what scalping is, I'll give you my personal definition. A scalper is someone who actively goes out of their way to buy multiple copies of a specific figure to immediately flip for a large profit.
The reason I've underlined some of the words above is because lately I've seen the word "Scalper" thrown around pretty loosely. I feel like people have started blaming others for scalping when all they're doing is selling a figure at the current market price. Most people are just selling the one figure they own, it's not like they're sitting on a pile of them at home, and they'll usually hold onto them for a month or two. Shouldn't it be fair game at that point? To me a scalper is some guy who gets in line multiple times to buy a con exclusive figure and flips them the same day.
I'm not even trying to judge here, some people need to hustle to put food on the table. I was just curious where people drew the line.
What do you guys think?
